as if inside our skulls, instead of the brain, we felt a fish, floating, attracted by the Moon.

XXXO

I haven't posted in quite a while. Losing steam, perhaps.
I suppose that because all I do is read Reddit I've run out of downtime to ponder and kill time with a blog. I'm so sorry, legions of fans who read my blog religiously (there are so many!!!!!! I swear!!!!!!).

lol.

There's been discussion of me getting a tattoo in the past, and I'm still thinking about it.
I've added shoulder tattoo to the list of places I'd possibly get one done. I have rather round/wide shoulders, which I think would do well as tattoo perches. Also, I think that I'm not really the kind of person who could pull off a tramp stamp. There are only a handful of those rare individuals who look good with them. I'd rather not risk it. However, I think I would do well with a shoulder tattoo.

Placement example. I would not get this of course, it was just the easiest thing to stamp onto a photo quickly. I still like the wolf skull idea. Perhaps a wolf skull with some adornments on my right shoulder? Left shoulder? Don't know yet. Hmmm...

Tattoos again

I keep thinking about tattoos. I wanted a jellyfish tattoo, but I've been thinking about it, and I'd rather have something with more meaning to me.
When I was in elementary school I was obsessed--and I mean absolutely obsessed--with wolves. I knew everything there was to know about wolves (though I've forgotten a lot of things), and I wore those grandma-style dark blue tie dye howling wolf shirts basically every day. I also loved werewolves.
I'm not so obsessed anymore, but I do still consider wolves to be my favorite animal, and I feel like I'd like to combine my wolf obsession with my physiology/osteology/pathology obsession.
So I decided on a wolf skull.
Not sure where I'd get it, but I'm leaning towards a tramp stamp. I hate the connotations of tramp stamps, but I honestly do love the way they look. I once saw a girl bicycling though town with a tramp stamp of a photo realistic freshwater bass. It was awesome. I'd love to have a realistic, non-cliche tramp stamp like that.
I googled up some wolf skull photos and naked-lady-back photos and combined the two until I found a design I liked, adjusting the jaw on the skull so it's mouth isn't gaping quite so much.

Of course, whatever I decide on wouldn't be something I'd get right away. I want to be absolutely certain about my design, and once I'm 100% sure, I'll wait a year or so, just in case. I'd hate to get a tattoo I'm going to regret.

I'm also still pretty set on my Stephen King quote tattoo for my left wrist. Times new roman font, as clean and simple as possible.
"He thrusts his fists against the posts and still insists he sees the ghosts."

Speaking of IT, apparently they're going to remake the movie version! I'm so pleased. The movie is good, but it's nothing like the book, and no where near as good.

I would love to get tattoos like this

Though the first is too hard to hide and the third I would want smaller and closer to my back...
sigh

(ps) survey time because I'm bored and want something to fill out.

1) Do you have the guts to answer these questions?
this is a hilarious first question. what if I said no?

2) Would you do meth if it was legalized?
probably not.

3) Abortion: for or against it?
not for *abortion*, I think that's a bad way to phrase the question, because no matter who you are you have to admit it is a difficult, sad thing for anyone to have to deal with, but I am definitely pro-choice

4) Do you think the world would fail with a female president?
no, because she would probably be qualified. not all women are the same, just as not all men are the same.

5) Do you believe in the death penalty?
unfortunately, it's pretty hard to have a functioning justice system without it, because of how our prison system works.

6) Do you think marijuana should be legalized already?
of course. all the reasons why pot "should be illegal" one can also say about alcohol. the whole debate is just silly.

7) Are you for or against premarital sex?
for. There's no logical reason to be against.

8) Do you believe in God?
no, but I don't care whether or not other people do.

9) Do you think same sex marriage should be legalized?
without question.

10) Do you think it’s wrong that so many Hispanics are illegally moving to the USA?
It depends on what you mean by "wrong." Also, it's really ok to call them Mexicans. They are Mexican citizens, after all.

11) A twelve year old girl has a baby, should she keep it?
it's not up to me, it's up to her.

12) Should the alcohol age be lowered to eighteen?
yes, but that would require better health education programs and an adjustment to our culture.

13) Should the war in Iraq be called off?
you can't just up and "call off" a war like that. this is too complex a situation. But it is definitely a bullshit war, and the start of something terrible.

14) Assisted suicide is illegal: do you agree?
I think in a medical situation it should be legal, though there would be strict guidelines. for example, the patient should be evaluated fully before a decision can be reached.

15) Do you believe in spanking your children?
no, because it doesn't work.

16) Would you burn an American flag for a million dollars?
I'd do it for any sum of money. It's just a piece of cloth.

17) Who do you think would make a better president?
I hate to say it because people seem to too easily fall for the smearing, but I do think ron paul is a great guy.

18) Do you think Obama will be killed?
I really doubt it.

19) Should child predators be forced to wear signs identifying themselves?
SIGNS? that's a little barbaric.

20) Are you afraid others will judge you from reading some of your answers?
not really, no.

bathe in gasoline

I'm posting too much, I know.

I really want a tattoo,
but I don't want to rush into it.
I want to spend a long, long time planning and thinking and drafting.
I want either a jellyfish or a quote
(not more than one unless I got them separately).

possible quotes (the list will probably grow and change):

- "he thrusts his fists against the posts and still insists he sees the ghosts"
[from "IT" by stephen king. book.]

-"as if inside our skulls, instead of the brain, we felt a fish, floating, attracted by the Moon."
[from "distance to the moon" by italo calvino. short story.]

if I settled on text, it would be either on my forearm or my hip. most likely my forearm. also the inside of my left wrist. depends on what quote I chose.
I'm leaning heavily towards the stephen king quote. though I also like the italo calvino quote as a runner up. that one might be accompanied by a picture [of a fish].
something like these fish:

If I got a jellyfish, it would probably be similar to this one, species-wise. it would be horizontal, swimming. either in blue/magenta/gray or in black and white. that would be somewhere on my back. probably lower back on the right side, almost on my hip.

suggestions are welcome, of course.
